On Election Day, ABC News will be running a “BallotWatch” team, eyeing all of the states with an emphasis on anything out of the ordinary that could happen.  Our folks here would like to be able to communicate with your reporting teams on November 6th should they see anything on the ground and in your state races that could be of concern.  In particular, we will be monitoring evidence of:

  • The spread of mis/disinformation (pertaining to a particular local or state race; either online or by other means);

  • Disruption to the integrity of the vote;

  • Potential ballot hacking;

  • Potential criminal activity

We would welcome – and greatly appreciate! – any tips/reports of possibly significant issues spotted by your teams covering races on Election Night – and we’ve set up a couple of methods of communication for us to all keep in contact.   Please feel free to pass this information along to your reporters/producers/assignment editors.  In the meantime, we’re happy to answer any questions – and we’re looking forward to covering the midterms with our affiliate partners.

All the best,

Cindy Galli
