*** IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT USE OF OSCARS FEEDS AND CLIPS ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24 ***

 

 

Stations:

Below are the usage rules for using Oscars material on Sunday, February 24.  This includes use of red carpet live feeds, backstage interview camera live feeds, the Oscars Pre-Show (which airs on ABC from 6:30 pm ET to 8:00 pm ET) and the Oscars Telecast (which airs on ABC from 8:00 pm ET until its conclusion).

 

 

*** Please pay particular attention to the fact that you may NOT live stream or broadcast LIVE any of the red carpet feed on any platform starting at 6:30 pm ET through the rest of the night. *** 

 

TYPES OF RED CARPET FEEDS AVAILABLE:

There will be two separate red carpet feeds on Sunday, February 24:

1. A switched feed that will have two elements:

   1. An “arrivals” feed (which will show celebrities getting out of cars and walking down the red carpet) from approximately 5:00 pm ET to approx. 8:00 pm ET (when the Oscars telecast begins).

   2. A “backstage” feed (which will show interviews with winners backstage) from approximately 8:00 pm ET until approx. the end of the Oscars telecast.

 

THE SWITCHED ARRIVALS/BACKSTAGE FEED WILL BE AVAILABLE ON NEWSONE LIVE CHANNEL 4.

 

1. A “fashion” camera feed (which will show celebrities stopping to let the photographers take photos) from approximately 5:00 pm ET to approx. 8:00 pm ET (when the Oscars telecast begins).

 

THE FASHION CAMERA FEED WILL BE AVAILABLE ON NEWSONE LIVE CHANNEL 2.

USAGE RULES FOR RED CARPET MATERIAL:

 

From 5:00 pm ET until 6:30 pm ET ONLY, you can live stream or broadcast live either of the two red carpet feeds on your branded platforms (broadcast, website, social media).  You can also broadcast or publish up to 3 minutes of clips of video per half-hour from the red carpet on your branded platforms between 5:00 pm ET and 6:30 pm ET.

 

From 6:30 pm ET through the end of the Oscars telecast on ABC, you may NOT live stream or broadcast live either any red carpet feed on any platform whatsoever. 

 

NEWSONE WILL CONTINUE FEEDING THE TWO RED CARPET FEEDS LIVE ON OUR LIVE CHANNELS, BUT YOU MAY NOT LIVE STREAM OR BROADCAST LIVE ANYTHING FROM THE RED CARPET FEEDS ON ANY PLATFORM BETWEEN 6:30 pm ET and the end of the Oscars telecast.  

 

You may still broadcast or publish up to 3 minutes of clips of video per half-hour from the Red Carpet/Backstage feeds on your branded platforms during this time.

USAGE RULES FOR VIDEO FROM THE OSCARS PRE-SHOW (AIRING ON ABC NETWORK FROM 6:30 pm ET to 8:00 pm ET) AND THE OSCARSTELECAST (AIRING ON ABC NETWORK FROM 8:00 pm ET UNTIL THE END OF THE TELECAST):

 

 

Any reuse of the OSCARS or OSCARS Pre-Show is subject to the current Academy Regulations, including, but not limited to, the following: In accordance with fair use provisions of copyright law, news programs and services may excerpt portions of the OSCARS or OSCARS Pre-Show for reuse during the seven days following the live telecast (i.e., up to, and including, the following Sunday in the U.S.), subject to the following conditions:

 

• (a) Up to three minutes may be used within the period ending the first day (i.e., Monday in the U.S.) following the telecast,

• (b) Up to one minute, not separate from the three minutes in (a) above, may be used within the period of the second through seventh days following the telecast,

• (c) The material may be used only for news reporting purposes directly related to the Awards Presentation as an event,

• (d) Any display, exhibition or performance of the material must be accompanied by the legend "Clip Courtesy A.M.P.A.S. © 2019" (year supplied as appropriate).
